Pre-Workshop Assessment

Capital One · AI Workshop · Wednesday April 23

This helps me shape the day around where this leadership team actually is: what you already know, what you're curious about, and what you would like to work on during our workshop. There are no wrong answers.

Takes about 8 minutes. Please complete by end of day Monday April 21.

About you
1 · Where you are with AI today
What you're using, how often, and how it fits into your work. No judgment, we want the real picture.
2 · Claude Code
We'll be building in Claude Code for most of the day. Knowing your starting point helps us pitch things right.
3 · How you think about AI fluency
Four dimensions. Rate yourself honestly on a 1 to 5 scale. This isn't a test, it helps us understand where to spend time and where we can move fast.
Delegation
Knowing which problems to hand to AI and which to keep. Shaping the right unit of work.

Description
Framing the ask. Giving context, constraints, examples. Writing briefs, not one-liners.

Discernment
Judging the output. Spotting hallucinations, shaky reasoning, knowing when it's good enough and when it isn't.

Diligence
Responsibility for what ships. Security, compliance, risk, attribution, how it plays with SOX/ESS.

4 · Your personal project
In the morning, you'll build something personal. A tool you'd actually use, nothing to do with work. Start thinking about what that might be.
It can be anything: a recipe finder, a morning briefing, a hobby tracker, a side project you've been meaning to start. We'll share some ideas on the day too. This is just to get you thinking.
5 · A team problem you'd like to work on
In the afternoon, we'll turn to something real. A problem that matters to how your team works but never quite makes it to the top of the sprint.
One or two sentences is plenty. Legacy modernisation, onboarding drag, review bottleneck, documentation rot, testing at scale. Anything important but never urgent enough.
6 · Logistics
So we can sort out any setup before the day.
You'll need a personal laptop for the morning session (your personal project). Your Capital One laptop will be used separately in the afternoon.
Access issues, device constraints, accessibility needs, things you've heard about Claude Code not working with something. Flag it now so we can sort it before Wednesday.

Thank you

Your responses are in. You'll hear from me before Wednesday with final logistics. Looking forward to the day.
